Frequently Asked Questions

A macro in Cubase is a keyboard shortcut or key command that performs a specific action. Macros can be simple (like pressing Ctrl+S to save) or complex (combining multiple actions into a single keypress). They help speed up your workflow by reducing repetitive tasks.

The downloaded file contains only the macros you selected. When you import it into Cubase, it will add or update those specific macros. However, we strongly recommend backing up your current Key Commands.xml file before importing, just to be safe.

Public macros are visible to everyone and can be discovered, rated, and downloaded by other users. Private macros are only visible to you and won't appear in search results or public listings. You can change this setting at any time.

Most macros are compatible across Cubase versions, but some commands may have changed between versions. We allow you to filter macros by Cubase version to find ones that are known to work with your specific version. Always test macros after importing to ensure they work as expected.

To rate a macro, go to the macro's detail page and use the star rating system. You can also leave a written review to help other users understand how the macro works and whether it's useful. Your ratings help the community find the best macros!

Yes! You can edit the description, tags, and privacy settings of your macros at any time. Go to "My Macros" in your profile to manage all your uploaded macros. You can also delete macros if you no longer want to share them.
